Sulphur-Carlyss Information Station

This group is to discuss any news that is going on in Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, or the state of Louisiana! Any show of blatant disrespect towards any persons will result in immediate ban. Vulgar language and derogatory words/statements will not be tolerated. Discussions of religion will not be tolerated. Please do not list your services, items or vehicles for sale here. There are plenty of groups for that. Pictures of vehicles and/or license plates of vehicles supposedly breaking traffic laws will no longer be tolerated. A picture of a vehicle is not proof of a traffic crime. If you see a traffic violation or reckless driver, call the police. Do not degrade the city of Sulphur. If you do not like living here, then move. Things like, "I hate this town", etc. will no longer be tolerated. Any negativity or bashing of our local law enforcement will result in an immediate ban. No questions asked. Stay polite, stay respectful, and have fun. Nothing is Fair and Nothing is Balanced!

I was listening to kajn 102.9 a few minutes ago. Tiffany was on the air talking about how a young man from Sulphur Louisiana walked into the radio several years ago. she said, He was barefooted and only had a guitar in his hand. He handed her a cd with the most beautiful christian music that he recorded himself. She has lost contatct over the years. I called her and asked her to describe him. She said he was young slender, shoulder lenght brown hair. i was wondering if anyone might know of who this could be. She has been on the radio for 12 years.. she said maybe it was 5 or 6yrs ago

Jeff Davis gets strick...on students...no tats, no piercings and no odd color hair!

School employees now have dress code in Jeff Davis Parish

Published: Yesterday
JENNINGS, La. (AP) - A new dress code has been approved by the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board - for school employees.

The American Press in Lake Charles reports (http://bit.ly/2r6t133 ) the policy includes prohibitions against visible face piercings or distracting tattoos. Frayed jeans, flip-flops and low necklines are among the items on the dress code's list of unacceptable attire.

While a student dress code has been in place since 2000, the parish schools superintendent said no written parish-wide policy was in place for employees. He said some principals had expressed concerns that some employees' style of dress was too relaxed.

The White House says the Vice President will participate in a listening session with local business leaders in the Baton Rouge area and he’ll make remarks afterwards at Cajun Industries in Port Allen. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan on the visit.
