HUGE PRISONER RELEASE CONCERNS MANY!

The release of an additional 1,400 convicts in November is causing some concern among sheriffs, district attorneys and other law enforcement personnel. The state Department of Corrections releases some 1,500 every month, so the November total will be doubled.

Law enforcement agencies in this area are especially worried because of the early release recently of a “career criminal” who has since been indicted for first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 10-year-old boy. He also wounded a 17-year-old whom authorities say may never walk again!

Corrections personnel have been working overtime going over the records of about 16,000 inmates who meet the qualifications for early release. Under Act 280, a nonviolent offender becomes eligible for parole when he has served 35 percent of the sentence!

DID YOU KNOW....
The Freddy Kruger character was based on a real serial killer who lived in the Sulphur La. area in the 1800s. According to police files of the time, Mr. Kruger had killed at least twenty children within a three mile radius of where he lived. He reportedly murdered the children using only a gardening claw, and he lived inside an abandoned factory; having set up a small living area (and torture area) within the "mechanical room" of the facility. Oh...back then, a "mechanical room" was also known as a "boiler room".
Mr. Kruger was eventually caught, tried, and found to be criminally insane. He spent the rest of his life in a Psychiatric Hospital before dying unexpectedly in his sleep at the age of 72.
To this day (and LONG before the Elm St. films) Calcasieu parish was said to be haunted by the ghost of Freddy Kruger.

(Actually, I just found this picture and made all that shit up. Happy October everyone!)
